RRB NTPC PREVIOUS YEAR EXAM REVIEW 2025

RRB NTPC PREVIOUS YEAR EXAM REVIEW 2025- Railway Recruitment Board National Typist cum PE (NTPC) is one of the most popular government recruitment examinations in India. In 2025, the CBT-1 was done (June 5- 24) using multiple shifts. The exam, with a population exceeding 50 lakh candidates, still questions the candidates in all the three categories-General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

When studying the paper of the previous year, one can better prepare oneself best- know the repetitive questions, the difficulty level, time-management strategies, and the methods of getting the maximum score.

Exam Pattern / Overview CBT‑1 included: 100 MCQs GA:- 40 Question (40 marks) Math:- 30 Question (30 marks) Reasoning: -30 Question (30 28) Duration:- 90 minutes (120 minute for PwD) Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted every incorrect response.

Popular guesses were later registered around 70 to 85 right answers with changed differences according to the shift In total, the overall difficulty of the exam alternated between Moderate and Moderate‑to‑Difficult ratings depending on the day and section.

Judgment By Section - 1. GA = General Awareness Challenge: Moderate to hard; heaviest part out of the sections . Themes Total Question Count: Current Affairs: 8-13 Qs ( povent October 2024 to April 2025 ) . History: 6 Qs. Polity & Constitution: 2 3 Qs. General Science, environment, computer fundamentals: 7-8 Qs (Science & Tech: Qs 1-4) Static General Knowledge: such as geography, books and authors, arts, GI tags, national parks. Budget, economy, sports, awards: some niche questions (e.g. WPL, DRDO lasers) This was the most vibrant and marking part of the paper. The questions were quite current affairs based mixed with some amount of static GK.

2. Mathematics -Numerical ability.
Scoring: -Easy to moderate, formulaic and straight-to-the-point queries .

Topics Frequency:-

Arithmetic:  Per cent, SI/CI, Ratio, Average, Profit and Loss
Simplification, LCM/HCF, Mensuration, Number System,
2 Time/Work, 3 Time/Speed and 3 Geometry were also the sources of 2-3 questions each.

Sometimes, there is Algebra and Trigonometry (1st, 2nd, 3rd Qs).

With good basics it was possible to solve ~20 -27 correct answers, most of the candidates were able to solve.

3. General Intelligence and Reasoning- Challenge: - This was usually the easy part. Common topics: - Puzzles & Seating Arrangements: 3 6 Qs. Coding-Decoding, Relations of Blood, Series, Syllogism, Analogy and Direction Sense. These questions were not calculative like math, were expected, and were considered to be timesaver as most aspirants tried 22 to 28 correctly.

Good Tries & Patterns of Performance- Total Safe Attempts: (70-85) ample answers in accordance with correctness. GA: (24 30) right. Math: (19-27 ) correct. Logic: (2228 ) right. June 5 and 6 shifts were between easy to moderate, moderate to difficult.

Best Learning Points on Candidates- GA is full of current events:- Keep in Oct 2024 to Apr 2025. Design budget, rewards, games and government plans Math is a combination of speed and accuracy:- Math-loading; focus on cutting time to answer past year arithmetic in tests. Put shortcut tricks . Logical Reasoning is marking:- Ready puzzles, blood family, series and coding-decoding. This part is scoring when well practiced Re-writing of Static GK is not an option:- Study polity, history and computer basics with CA Management of time is very important: Automatically many had a problem in math, but it was nice to get a point in reasoning and a point in GA helping to neutralize .

The thoughts of the Reddit Aspirants- Some redditors responded to the preparation and PYQs: The syllabus of advance math is very extensive.. The level of math in NTPC is very much less compared to SSC.. Buy fruits of Kiran ki books and teach railways maths and solve its questions through problems.
People usually recommend picking PYQs first and focus on it, particularly in math and recommend using quality youtube channels or books as far as CA & GK are concerned.

To crack the exam - strategy - Start with GA: Update the previous 6 months events and static GK (NCERT/Lucent). Math PYQs: Work on Math PYQs based on arithmetic: Shortcuts and time to solve. Train your mind through mocks: seating arrangements and puzzles really do pay! Mock tests = reality check: you practice the same conditions as during a test to better distribute your time. Revise with sense: maintain a formula sheet; settle on one revision of the fixed GK. Precision rather than Efforts: You should not guess to get marks in negative marking.

Final Thoughts- The RRB NTPC CBT 1 paper of 2025 was not very difficult: GA required a solid knowledge of the current affairs. Math was rewarding precision and rapidity in the practice. The thing was reasoning still remained the differentiator because it had high scores potential. It is sound practice to master PYQs, refresh CA and static GK, practise arithmetic, and learn time-saving tricks of solving the puzzles in such a way that you could safely cross the threshold of unsafe-attempts (100+) and confidently become qualified in CBT-2.    Suggested Resources- Books: RS Agarwal, Maths book, RS Agarwal, Reasoning; NCERTs and Indian Lucent, GA. Internet: Mock tests Adda247, Test book, Career Power. YouTube Channels: Aditya Ranjan Math; Infologue/Parmar Sir CA and GK. Reddit Advice: give more emphasis on PYQs and topic-wise mocks.

Final Word- Are you ready to take the RRB NTPC exam? Then it is essential to draw some ideas out of the 2025 exam analysis in the field of mining. Solve last year papers on a regular basis, time your math, revise GA intelligently, and train your brains. The minimum target of getting a 7585 score should not be considered its goal, as there is always a chance to achieve it with systematic effort and thoughtful planning. Goodluck mate! I wish you pass your NTPC journey in 2026.
